Hi! My name is Caroline. I'm also 14 and I live in Potomac, Maryland, 10 minutes outside of Washington, D.C. My father is black (He was born in the states but grew up in various countries in Africa including Kenya, Liberia, and Libya because my grandfather worked for the U.S. state department and Peace Corps)and my mother is white (she grew up in the Boston, Massachusetts, area). English is my first language and I am currently learning french at school. I am a freshman at an International Baccalaureate high school, which is basically a globally-oriented high level academic program. At school, I am involved with the History club, the Archaeology club (I want to be an archaeologist when I grow up), the Junior State of America club (it's basically a politics club), and the It's Academic team, which competes against other schools in "quiz bowls", which are kind of like academic knowledge competitions. I love to play alto saxophone and baritone saxophone! I also adore reading... I love books about different places around the world and books about history (history and band class are probably my two favorite subjects at school). I also, of course, love a good novel :) I absolutely love love love to travel to foreign countries. Last year i spent a week in Québec, Canada with my school french class and this year I will be lucky enough to spend nine days in Ireland with a school group! Every summer, I spend 4-6 weeks at a traditional summer camp on a lake in the mountains of New Hampshire, I love going there! Well, that's me in a nutshell... bye! :D
