My step father is a Swiss citizen. Is it possible for me to also become a Swiss citizen?
I am over the age limit of 22 years and don't live in Switzerland. Currently I live in Germany and am an Amercan citizen.

No. Not unless you were underage and he adopted you.

No, you cannot become a Swiss Citizen, unless you now marry someone Swiss. If you were dependant on your Step Father, you may have a chance, but you are an adult yourself now, so you wouldn't be granted Swiss citizenship just because your Stepdad is Swiss

Well, not because of your step father, sorry! If you'd become a German citizen you were allowed to live Switzerland (almost) automatically by taking a job in Switzerland - then within 10 years (depending on the Canton) you may apply for the Swiss citizenship. To get an immigration permission as an American, is a bit difficult - you or your employer would have to prove your special knowledge that can't be achieved by employing someone living in Switzerland or the EC already...
