How can I get the French citizenship? My mother is French and my father was Swiss. I´m 56 years old and never made military service. Almost all of my living relatives are French and I live in Mexico.

you did not give enough details in order for me to try to answer you. did your mother have a family book? (livret de famille)that is important to know, if not? it is a bit late, but come back and give more on your situation. after the age of 33 ? even tough you did not do your # service militaire# which you would have to explain why? there is a status of limitation do you know how to edit your question? do you hold Swiss citizenship? do come back..

Go to the French embassy or check their website...http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/les-francais-etranger_1296/vos-droits-demarches_1395/nationalite-francaise_5301/index.html Hope you speak French and it's not too late for you... You should have asked for it before you were 18 years old according to the website. Where were you born ? Have you been living in France ? After reading the conditions I don't see how you can have it now.
