Is it true that only crooks and corrupt people have accounts at swiss bank

Is it true that only crooks and corrupt people have accounts at swiss bank?
Mubarak, Saddam Hussein, Nigerian government officials, fidel castro, etc etc are examples of controversial people having accounts at swiss bank. Years ago I read on a website that only shady characters keep off-shore accounts to evade taxes or hide their secret wealth. Also why would anyone open a swiss account living in another continent or another country on the other side of the globe? As if there are no banks in their own countries?

That is silly, many of us have swiss accounts. You don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I live in Switzerland so I bank with a Swiss bank. The banks here are very good and have an international reputation. Traditionally they have also been very conservative and respectful of the privacy of their clients - that seems to be a good thing, but clearly it attracts all sorts of customers who like discretion. Banking is an international business and good banks operate all over the world. Bank of America is very active in London. UBS is active in New York. Offshore banking is associated with dozens of jurisdictions, and there are dozens of tax havens. For example the United States Virgin Islands offers exemption from U.S. and other taxes. I'm sure a few crooks bank there too.
