I heard that I can get a government stipend if I move to Switzerland and live in my ancestors' canton

I heard that I can get a government stipend if I move to Switzerland and live in my ancestors' canton!?
My family has been in the US for generations. Some of my ancestors came from Switzerland. When I told my mother that I was thinking of moving to Europe soon, she said that if I moved to the canton that my ancestors came from (Aargau), I would be eligible for some type of stipend from the Swiss government. Is there any truth to this? If so, approximately how much is the stipend?

If that were true, don't you think Switzerland would be overrun with lazy people wanting free money? Anyway the government of Switzerland is being severely affected by the economic crisis and cutting back on their generous social programs.

is that a serious question? what do you think would you get a stipend for? what do you think swiss people live from? we don't pay that much taxes to throw the money into the arms of foreigners (do you have a swiss passport?). it is possible to get a stipend here under very rare circumstances. for example in my home canton, if my parents don't have a lot of money and their kids are full-time university students, study in a different canton and can't live at home, they could maybe get some stipends...

That's news to me. However, she might have referred to the benefits which were connected with the 'Bürgerrecht' but most of them were abolished years ago.
